I love doing invitations. It is such an easy way to make an event extra special. Recently I was asked to convert my Astronaut invitation into a Galactic Ball invite for five year old twins. I got fantastic direction from a NYC party planner. I love how they turned out!
A couple of years ago I went crazy for Minted. I entered every contest and waited with baited breath for the voting results. I won a wedding invite challenge for my Vintage Bird Invitation, which I still absolutely love. But I have many many designs that did not make it. I am spring cleaning my hard drive and have decided to throw my favorite wedding invites and art prints up on my Etsy site. Here are just a few. I customize the invitations for each buyer so they can print at home. The art prints are instant downloads!
Our seven year old is an incredible artist. He has amazing focus and attention to detail. Just recently I created a Pinterest board for him. Above are the creations he came up with just minutes after looking at his new inspiration. D's work is featured in my Monster Birthday invite. His monsters also grace our living room walls.
Our five year old LIVES for holidays. She often asks if we can join all religions so that we can share their celebrations. Her birthday is the be-all end-all of yearly parties. I dropped the ball BIG time last year and had a small gathering of friends with very little hoopla. So this year we had to make up lost ground. She chose a camping party, which can be difficult in the middle of November. The Great Indoors was the theme. Our fireplace became the campfire to roast s'mores. We made a teepee out of a drop cloth. Michael's had animal masks to decorate. And bead necklaces were a favorite craft. The favors were firefly jars ... mason jars with small dots of glow-in-the-dark paint.
After all the guests left, M said "Mom, what do we do now that my birthday is over?". Start planning for next year. I should actually start planning her wedding. Visit here to see my prep board for the birthday.
This week I missed the Minted deadline for entries. After beating myself up for a day I realized that maybe this was a hidden opportunity. I have created an Etsy shop. Currently it is full of children's birthday invitations. All are printable to your home printer or local print shop. All are $15. I have a stock pile of other designs and will keep adding ... so please check back!
